Aim and Learning Outcomes

Purpose

The aim of this unit is to enable the learner to:

 

  1. Understand basic aspects of engineering drawing practice
  2. Gain skills of engineering drawing and sketching
  3. Understand basic electrical and electronic drawings

Learning outcomes                          

At the end of this unit learner should be able to:

  1. Select and use appropriate drawing instruments (or software) for a particular drawing task and construct/design drawings commonly encountered in mechanical engineering
  2. Make orthographic drawings given pictorial drawings, interpret orthographic drawings and make isometric and oblique drawings/sketches for a given orthographic drawing
  3. Construct electrical and electronic drawings and schematics in computer aided software such as AutoCAD
