Electrical Engineer (PE) · PhD Researcher, TU Delft · Author
Turning technical complexity into clear engineering decisions
I work at the intersection of electrical power engineering, high-voltage research, and technical education — helping engineering firms, utilities, researchers, and institutions solve technical problems, strengthen documentation, and build practical skills.
What I do
Consultancy · Research · Training · Writing
Electrical engineering consultancy
Electrical design review, BOQ preparation, load schedules, single-line diagrams, AutoCAD drafting support, and technical documentation for building and infrastructure projects.
Power systems research
Electromagnetic transient analysis using ATP-EMTP and MATLAB: transient recovery voltage (TRV), switching overvoltages, VFTO, and insulation coordination — with a research focus on SF₆-free high-voltage switchgear.
Technical training
Practical training in electrical building services design, AutoCAD, BOQ preparation, ATPDraw for power system transients, and research methods for engineers.
Books & writing
Author of Electrical Services for Buildings: A Consultant’s Guide and Energy Conservation and Management for Professionals (Routledge), plus articles on engineering, education, and professional growth.
Current focus
High Voltage Technologies · TU Delft
I am a PhD researcher in the High Voltage Technologies group at TU Delft, investigating transient overvoltages in high-voltage gas-insulated substations and the application of SF₆-free switchgear in transmission grids.
My research combines ATP-EMTP simulation, transformer modelling validated against factory measurements, and insulation coordination studies aligned with IEC standards. Alongside the research, I run engineering education platforms serving students and professionals in East Africa.
