Can teach a person how to lead;
A badge may purchase outward rank,
But cannot manufacture heed.
The craft is learned through patient work,
Through errors faced and lessons stored;
One learns to guide by guiding well,
Not merely sitting at the board.
A captain proves the right to steer
When waves erase the easy chart;
The office grants authority,
But conduct wins the human heart.
