Do not email courage from your chair
While others work outside in rain;
The boots you never choose to wear
Make every stirring speech seem vain.
Take first the task you ask of others,
Keep first the rule you mean to spread;
A leader’s habits travel farther
Than any policy they have read.
Instructions may direct the hand,
But imitation forms the will;
Who wishes others to climb high
Must first be seen upon the hill.
