Aim and Learning Outcomes
Purpose
The aim of this unit is to enable the learner to:
- Understand basic aspects of engineering drawing practice
- Gain skills of engineering drawing and sketching
- Understand basic electrical and electronic drawings
Learning outcomes
At the end of this unit learner should be able to:
- Select and use appropriate drawing instruments (or software) for a particular drawing task and construct/design drawings commonly encountered in mechanical engineering
- Make orthographic drawings given pictorial drawings, interpret orthographic drawings and make isometric and oblique drawings/sketches for a given orthographic drawing
- Construct electrical and electronic drawings and schematics in computer aided software such as AutoCAD
