Research Interests & Publications

This section shows a brief description of Eng. Benard Makaa ‘s research interests.

I am seeking a PhD and scholarship in electrical engineering—any research field in electrical power and energy systems, sustainable energy transition, resiliency, etc. Here’s my open letter on the same.

I am honing my Python, Matlab/Simulink, and OpenDSS skills.

Research Interests

A. Impact of Large-scale integration of electric vehicles into the grid.

B.Wireless Power Transmission.

Wireless power transmission, on a scale larger than used by magnetic induction devices, would allow systems to operate remotely without the need for relatively large energy storage devices or routine maintenance. It can also be employed in cases where interconnecting wires are inconvenient, hazardous or impossible, such as in wet environments, rotating or moving joints, as well as powering remote telecommunication equipment.

C. Research on sound and sound transmission.

Exploring how sound is transmitted and if we can reverse engineer the process and develop a system/device that can completely truncate or cancel sound or noise.

D. Investigating and Developing Natural Esters as Transformer Insulation Liquids.

Exploring ester-based dielectric fluids as alternative transformer insulation liquids.
